If you’re worried that you may not be able to afford your permanent residential care costs, you can ask to be considered for financial hardship assistance. If you are eligible, the Australian Government will pay some or all your aged care costs.

Services Australia’s Financial Information Service (FIS) is a free service available to everyone. FIS officers can show you how to make informed financial decisions and help you to understand the financial implications of your aged care costs. They can also help you understand how different payment methods for residential care may affect your pension and aged care costs if you ever need to move into an aged care home.
The preferred method is Direct Debit but other arrangements can be accommodated.
If you intend to pay a RAD but need to sell your house or other assets to fund the RAD payment, we will charge you the DAP based on the price of the accommodation (less any RAD you have paid).
Accounts are sent out each calendar month.
Our preferred method of payment is via an approved Direct Debit Authority, however alternative payment methods can be arranged with our Accounts team
