MYVISTA was established from a founding group of Perth cultural clubs whose members had migrated to Western Australia from Italy, Macedonia and the former Yugoslavia. These forward thinking members shared a desire to provide culturally appropriate care for the ageing members of their communities and so came together to make their vision a reality.
The Stirling Ethnic Care Aged Home Association was incorporated in 1991 and a 40 place residential aged care hostel facility in Balcatta was built on land initially leased from the City of Stirling with the first resident admitted in 1992. In 2009 the land in Balcatta on which MYVISTA stood was transferred freehold to it which allowed the organisation to develop a further 62 residential aged care places and a 43 villa retirement village, which opened in 2010.
With strong demand for places within residential aged care and the retirement village at MYVISTA Balcatta, the Board of MYVISTA decided to grow its services to meet community need. MYVISTA’s Home Care service began operations in 2010 complementing the aged care services by assisting elderly people to maintain their independence and confidence while living in their own home.
In 2020 MYVISTA opened its Mirrabooka development which has a 108 place multi-storey residential aged care facility, 45 retirement apartments and 5 commercial tenancies providing medical and personal care services further providing MYVISTA with the ability to meet senior's demands for services.
Today MYVISTA continues to welcome people from all cultures while its heritage and multicultural spirit continues to shine through in its staff and the care it provides.
